Stretching warms up your muscles and promotes blood flow, ensuring that you will have the flexibility to do your exercises safely. With that in mind, here are some simple stretches that you can do in your apartment home.

TRY THESE EASY STRETCHES FROM THE COMFORT OF YOUR APARTMENT
Some stretches are best done with a chair or a fitness ball (available in any exercise equipment store), but many just require a floor. Hold poses for approximately 30 seconds to get the most benefit.

SAVASANA
The Savasana pose involves lying on your back and rolling your head sideways a couple of times before centering it. Then, you tuck your chin in toward your chest, which lengthens your neck muscles.

HAMSTRING STRETCH
Try a hamstring stretch, which works on the backs of your thighs. Sitting on a fitness ball, hold your legs apart and keep your toes pointing toward the ceiling. While exhaling, bend from your hips and gradually lower your hands down your legs until they reach the floor.

SHOULDERS, SPINE AND UPPER BACK STRETCH
For your shoulders, spine and upper back, try out a ball hug stretch. Stand and then position your arms above the top of the ball so you are holding it against your body. While inhaling, tighten up your abdominal muscles. At the same time, your spine will lengthen. Then, exhale while bringing your chin closer to your chest, keeping your knees soft and not locked.

NECK, BACK, LEGS AND HIPS STRETCH
Stretch out your neck, back, legs and hips by placing one of your heels on a chair positioned in front of you. Keeping your legs straight, inhale while moving your arms over your head. Then, exhale while reaching over your leg (see if you can hold onto the back of the chair while doing so for better flexibility). Inhale, resume standing and then repeat twice.
