Exercise during the holidays
During the busy holiday season, it can be hard to keep up our exercise habits. There are some great ways to incorporate exercise into the holidays and still have a good time. The following are a few tips for keeping up the good habits during the hectic holiday season.

How to Exercise During the Holidays

Go on walks with loved ones

It's nice to socialize with family members and friends, but you might not be the only one longing for fresh air and a bit of exercise, especially after a nice, filling holiday dinner. Ask if someone else wants to go on a walk. Or take a group stroll around the neighborhood looking at Christmas lights.

Make exercise a group event

Plan an outing to an ice skating rink, bowling alley, or hike in a forest. You can create memories while staying fit, a win-win situation for everyone.

Create an exercise space in your home

If you have a dedicated exercise space, you are just more likely to make exercise happen even if it is only for a few minutes in between parties.

Do a holiday race

There are lots of great holiday-themed races. Many support a good cause. Walk a holiday 5k, and ask your friends and family if they want to join you.

Do mini-workouts

Let's face it, you may just have less time and energy during the holidays for your really long exercises. Break things up a bit by doing more intense workouts.

Do more housework

You already are in the cleaning mode with friends and family members visiting. The new year brings a new desire for removing the clutter from your life and keeping your living space more organized. Do a deep winter house cleaning and enjoy the results not just on your living space but also on your health.

Offer to help your hosts with housework, yard work, or any other physical labor

If you are visiting your parents, ask if you can help them rake leaves, trim branches, or clear decks.

Look for seasonal offerings at the gym

Gyms often have their best offerings during the holidays and at the start of the new year. You can also find some fun classes this time of year as well.

At Hannover Grand at Sandy Springs Apartments in Atlanta, GA, there are a lot of ways to exercise. From a 24-hour fitness center, swimming pool, and two tennis courts, you'll have plenty to choose from all year long. Contact us today to find out which floor plans are available.
