4 Ways to Incorporate More Exercise Into Your Day

We all know that exercise is important for us, but it can be extremely difficult to fit it into our busy days. Fortunately, there are ways to “sneak” exercise into your day, making that healthy, well-balanced lifestyle you’ve always wanted much easier. Here are 4 tips for doing just that!

Be more active with friends and family

Much of our downtime is spent with friends or family. Instead of having sit-down events be your go-to socialization activity suggest more active activities every once in a while, too. Taking a walk, going bowling or golfing, going on a picnic, or heading to the local pool for a swim are some great ways to get started!

Take the stairs

This is the oldest trick in the book, but it works! While no one expects you to head to that 20th-floor meeting using the stairs, if you ever have the choice between a few flights and the elevator, choose the former. If you’re out of breath the first few times, that’s okay. It simply means you’re making progress!

Park far away at the grocery store and mall

Here’s another tried but true tip! Parking at the back of the parking lot instead of right up front gives you a few more steps in your day and shaves just a few moments off your time. Even better? Walk to the grocery store and other shops if they're in your neighborhood.

Avoid online shopping when you can shop at brick and mortar stores

While most things (even groceries!) can be purchased with just a few clicks online, this eliminates time that we would otherwise be moving. So, when you can, instead of ordering online, head out to the store to buy what you need!
